Les McLean.

Mouton Barn, Wyoming.

In the past three years Les has embraced digital image making. He demonstrates his manipulation techniques, and print making methods in workshops, and for Ilford at shows throughout the country.

"The exposure was made in the early morning, as a rainstorm began to clear, and the Grand Tetons behind were lit by the first sunlight of the day, although it was raining where I was standing. This image is a scan of the final print made in the darkroom where there was considerable manipulation carried out. Because there was no light on the barn I printed that area of the image using grade 5 only to achieve maximum contrast, and used a mix of grade 0 and grade 2 to create the tonality, and contrast that I wanted in the remainder of the print".
