Anne Cooper.

Elgol, Skye.

I live in the southeast of the UK, but enjoy the landscape of the northwest. I photograph places in this country, and faces in far away places. I use film usually with a Leica M3, or a Rollei TLR Whiteface 2.8f, and with a Weston lll light meter.
I have a scanner and, on my computer, Photoshop 6, but I still have my darkroom.

I think manipulation of an image with a digital system is much easier than by traditional means, but the laying down of the image on silver, or silver substitute, is I find, far more satisfactory than by pixels. In theory, manipulating the negative digitally, and printing traditionally looks like having the best of both worlds, but I have yet to embark on this practice.

After waiting all one November day in Elgol for the torrential rain to clear, I was rewarded in the late afternoon with a glimpse of the sun.

Film: T-Max 100. Film developer: HC 110. Paper: Sterling FB VC. Paper developer: Ilford PQ. I scanned it into my computer with marginal manipulation in Photoshop to send to your thriving club. I wish we had one with similar values near my home.
