Flooring done, and it's time to start erecting the cupboard unit bases. This is the first of four.

I intend making the worktop, on this, the dry side, from MDF board, when the other base unit on this side is assembled.

As at the 1st January 2005.
The dry side almost complete.

The enlarger position, between the wet and dry sides.

The enlarger will sit on the
papersafe, once it is levelled.

The sides of the coffer are also painted matt black to reduce reflections that may otherwise
degrade the projected image.

I've decided not to overlay the worktop with laminated flooring
for no better reason than that I've run out!
I've no idea what thegray blob is just
above the multi-gang socket outlet.
I must clean the camera lens!

By-the-way, why do we have to have red neon indicators on everything electrical that we buy these days? It means that each item has to be taken apart, so that the wretched item can be cut out, for the last thing that's needed when loading infra-red film, for example, is a plethora of red lights. Occasionally we really do need total darkness in the darkroom.
For no better reason than to cheer myself up, and create the illusion that I'm making progress I decided
to install the enlarger.

The opposite end of the
room to the enlarger are
the exit doors that lead to
the small vestibule that
will house the fridge and
a/c unit.

The chain connecting the
two door handles is a
safety item.

Yanking the chain opens
the top door lock.

It's easier to find in total
darkness than either of the
door handles.
It also means the
otherside of the door
only requires a centre
handle.

For a similar reason I installed a small hi-fi system.

Actually it's quite low-fi, but it's company.

Filling the shelves.

It's starting to look the business!

I wonder if I can remember how to print?

Taps at the ready.
